Default Wheel Shopping is Frustrating - Hate Dracos

I love my new XFR but hate the Draco wheels.

No offense if you love your Draco wheels, wheels are like Chili.. your idea and my idea of the perfect pot of Chili are gonna differ, but we both would rather have Chili than Quiche. Still reading?

So I start shopping.

One site says the wheels I like fit and are $1000 a set. Niche Apex 20 x 8 5 10 Black M Rims Wheels Jaguar XF 09 Up 5H 35 | eBay

The next site I visit, says the same wheels are $1000 EACH [turns out they are NOT the same wheel as $250 rim is a forged 1 piece and the $1000 is a multipiece.] NICHE® APEX Monotec Series Wheels - Custom Rims

And the next site wants $1175 for 4 wheels but says they won't fit my car.*

Those of you that have shopped wheels.. here are the questions.

A. Who do YOU trust.

B. Anyone know the proper 'offset' for the 2011 XFR [I think I know this now.. prior to 2010 offset was 49 front 29 rear 2010 and after it is 49 front 46 rear (per chXFS in Sept thread)]

C. Other than Coventry and factory Jag, any wheels that accept the Jaguar center cap??

TSW makes good wheels to fit the Jaguar line up. I have a nice set if Mugello in 18 in, painted silver, for my winter tires.

I always check what tire rack has on offer. If tire rack doesn't offer a range of wheels for your car you know they will be hard to find.

Try

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...3&autoModClar=

You get seven wheel choices. SEVEN.

TSW builds a number of styles to fit the XF

Chrome wheels, Chrome staggered wheels, Chrome 22” wheels, Chrome 20” wheels, Chrome 19” wheels, Chrome 18” wheels

Aftermarket wheels are not easy to find for a Jaguar, even the post Ford Jaguars which have a very common specification.

You have an xfr with very large brakes. Price point will dictate your choices. Will a cast wheel (least expensive) be acceptable? They are the heaviest but not likely more than your Draco's. The Savini BM series and the Lexani brand will likely have wheels that fit for between $350 and $500 per wheel depending on who you buy them from. You need a 5 x 108 bolt pattern. I don't know if XFR offsets are same as my Supercharged. Carid.com has a good site, but I haven't bought anything. I called the manufacturer directly when I was shopping but it didn't always help. There is a Savini rep that has posted to this forum that I expect knows what to recommend in their line. Offsets may want to be different than factory to push wheel/tire out flush with wheel well if you like that look. See if you like any of Savini or Lexani. Once you get into forged wheels cost gos up considerably, but easier to fit. Let me know what you think of those two brands.

Just checked Carid.com. The Lexani R-3 or R-5 may appeal to you. Also see that Asanti makes a reasonably priced cast wheel, the ABL-1 which is a possibility. If Savini BM does not have anything the BS series might, but at high cost, but less weight. Happy shopping.

Default Wheel

I'm wondering if the 20" Takoba would fit. I could get them powder coated?

Turns out.. if you go shopping for the 5 star Takoba there is 1 front wheel part number but two rear wheel part numbers to correspond to the change in offset between pre 2010 and 2010 and after.

2009
C2P17651 Front
C2P17652 Rear

2010
C2P17651 Front
C2P19372 Rear

I just installed 20" Braelin wheels on my XFR for winter use (although they look better than my summer OEMs). I opted for the BR-01 style in black. Pretty cost effective (<$375/rim). Options are a bit limited, but they do custom drill the bolt pattern for each car model; the wheel shop I use checked and assured me they fit like a glove on delivery. Braelin Alloy Wheels

Black Pack - those Braelin wheels look really nice. I wanted and tried to find the OEM Takoba wheels but I couldn't find any used rears and the Jag price for new was $800 plus each, used fronts were available for $300 each. . THEN I came across these incredibly cheap 5 spoke wheels, 600 delivered for a set. We will see when they arrive if they are Ok.. I may have them matte powder-coated "brake dust grey" which is the color of my factory Dracos.

Sweet. Love the treatment in the centre/bolt area. Post pics once they're on!

Hi Gn4hir - those Motiv wheels seem incredibly cheap at under $600 for 4x wheels. I'd love to see photos once you get them and to hear your views on them. Are you getting 20 inch? And what are you doing about bolt pattern - if I read their website correctly they are not in 5x108 bolt pattern so are you doing something to get them to fit? And are all the offsets ok for an XF?

I'm still interested in a second set of 20inch wheels for my winter tyres to avoid paying every 6 months to remount them. If these work (and there is a staggered setup to match my winter tyres) then I'd certainly be interested

Thanks and hope they look good!
