Cool

First Jaguar for my house, have owned a variety of moderately priced cars through school, of the Japanese variety. Upgraded to higher end Toyota and Acura machines in my early career(wife rides mostly), when the $$ started flowing in the roaring 2000's, a S500 (that I still own), and SL 600 (that I still love), and a Variety of SUV's on the 3-5 year turnover, an Expedition, a GMC Yukon, and then a Lincoln Navigator(still own, but may sell). The S class was my wife's main ride, and she kept complaining about the size, performance, etc. So a Mom's day trip yielded the 2010 XF. It has some miles for 33 months old (41K) but a clean straight chassis, and great performance. Like witbyxf, I don't think it has the finish of BMW, but cleaner lines, and less switches, gauges, etc that the Merc, and in my opinion, a cross between the S500 and SL600 we already have, performance and grin wise.

I will be doing the same. XF and the LS are cousins, cause underneath the shell, it's the same car with some variations.

Creaking doors are usually the rubbers, sometimes leather. There is a special lubricant for that, 3M IIRC. (I can look it up at home and post if needed.) A dealer should know and be able to solve this quickly, but alas ..... We had a Chrysler minivan (wifes car) with acreaking slide door. The main dealer could not fix it, and after several attempts I took it to an independent garage. Fixed in ten minutes and never came back.
