It is the standard badge for the 2013 XJ.

1. Clean the area where it is going to be installed using pre-wax cleaner.
2. Use blue painters' tape to indicate the bottom edge of where the badge is going to go.
3. Step back and make sure the tape is level. Since the trunk lid is curved, it's very hard to tell if it's level from close up.
4. Use a spray bottle of plain water to mist the back of the badge after you've removed the peel-off backing. The point of this is that it will allow you to unstick the badge without ruining it in case you didn't get it right at the outset. Have a blow dryer ready.
5. Once you're satisfied with how it turned out, use the blow dryer to help evaporate the water on the back. The badge will not slide down, even when the back is wet. It will still stick pretty firmly, but not permanently.
Good luck.

So, about a month ago I finally got around to putting the badge on - detailer removed the wax, and I made a template - mirror image of the "XF" badge location.
Today I took it into the shop for the first time since (minor tire repair). Service manager told me one of the mechanics asked how come a 12 XF had a 5.0 badge. Having somebody notice made it worth while.

Looks like some divergence of opinion. Before placing the order for the Jag I tried the Audi and the Merc. Neither felt as quiet as the Jag. My wife says my hearing is not the best. I think it's OK. 83 years might have something to do with it. My previous XJ was weary quiet and I didn't think it was possible to get a quieter car. In my opinion the XFR has less wind noise and as the engine is only turning at 1200 at 100 k you don't hear much from there. In NZ we have a lot of coarse chip tar seal which is hard to dampen but the new jag does a good job. Tried to post a photo but no luck. It might be in there somewhere. I will try again.
