Your post is in the wrong place, a 2015 XF is an X-250, not the new second generation XF's that are X-260's starting with model year 2016. Anyhow, the sound you are hearing is actually coming from the sunroof and it is nearly the truth that "they all do it" at some point or another. You will find much discussion of this in the X-250 forum. Ask the dealer to inspect and lubricate the sunroof mounts and seals. This may need to be done several times over the life of the car. Some owners don't mind the creaking, others are nearly driven crazy.

There is a TSB for the creacking sound around the sunroof.

Wow. Never thought a sunroof issue would resonate through the windshield. Thanks for your advice. I"ll recommend it to my dealer.

I have a rattle from inside the headliner that passengers in the back of my car swear is coming from the trunk. Tracking down all of the creaks and rattles in this car is extra frustrating because it's often tough to tell where they're coming from.

With both my XFs I had a tinny metallic rattle that sounded like it was coming from the rear. I removed the rear lighting console (very easy to do) and found a wiring plug a couple of inches towards the front of the car from the console hole. This plug was sitting loose and obviously rattling against the metal of the roof.
I jammed a small piece of foam rubber between the plug and the roof, no more rattle. On both of the XFs.

Is the sound actually coming from the windscreen itself? If so, I get that on my 2010XF SC when the weather turns colder
It's the rubber gasket along the bottom of the windscreen outside the car. When it gets cold it hardens and creaks at every bump. If you clean out all the grime and crud under it and perhaps a thin applications of something like sylglide that might help

Others are right that sunroof creak in these is notorious... I had that too - but very obvious that the windscreen issue is from a different location
