Default Winter Floor mats holes not spaced for the hooks?

I got my winter floor mats from the dealer. Came in 2 packages for rear and front seats. Funny because my front passenger floor mat fits into the floor mat hooks and are spaced the same as my regular floor mats. The drivers side though is not meeting the same space requirements. They came in the same package.

Am I suppose to somehow adjust the hooks on the floor? I don't even know how to take it out and don't want to break the internal threads. Tried applying some pressure but would not rotate so I may take it to the dealer to tell them wtf.

I have a 2012 model and I believe the floor mats should work on 2009-2012.

Another thing to mention is that my rear passenger floors do not have any floor clips ...is this normal? The mats have holes for the clips (Both winter and regular mats) but there is no holes on the floor. I am guessing that this is normal for the 2012 model?
