Hi all,

Looking for a bit of info and wonder if someone can give me a bit of advise.

I have a 58 plate XF but is was a special ex Jag MD car . so the chassis is a 2010 model.

The left hand headlamp, has failed. it started at first coming on a few secs. then going off again. if you powered down the car and re pressed the start switch after a few attempts it would come back on. and as long as the car was running there would be no issues.

Now the headlamp has failed all together, I have taken the lamp and ballast of the left and fitted it all on the right and vice versa, bit by bit, lamp first etc.

The lamp and ballast works OK on the right but the right hand lamp and ballast will not work on the left.

This basically eliminates any problems with the lamp or ballast.

I can't find any fuses or relays that control these lamps, thinking it may be a dodgy relay etc.

can any one give me a little advise as where best to look, it would be warmly appreciated. I have seen a similar thread on another forum, but alas did not give an answer, I can only surmise therefore, that this has happened before and I am not the first.

Since publishing this, further investigation has lead to know power coming down the brown/blue wire from the central junction box, will check wiring and JB at the weekend ....

any further advise would be greatly appreciated
