Default XF 100 k KM service

Dear Members,

Have been getting the service required message on instrument panel of XF 2013 2L Turbo. Current odo is 98500 Km or 61205 miles. Handbook doesn’t detail what needs to be checked during the service.

Have recently changed the Engine oil- Mobil one fully synthetic, oil filter, coolant reservoir, coolant, cabin air filter and all Tyres. Engine air filter was cleaned and looks ok.

Found the below when the car was raised up.

Mech quoting arm and leg to replace all the assemblies with Genuine Jag spares.

turbo replaced an year ago.

What else should I be checking?

Thanks in advance.

All common and expected?
You can change the rubber boots. Especially on the upper ball joints as they have almost no load on them and rarely wear out. BUT it's just about as much work to replace the rubber boots as it is to replace the upper arm assembly. Kind of your choice and the rubber boot replacement will be fine if you go that way. A bit tough to find the rubber boots but they have been posted on the forum. So maybe you can find them with a search or two?

The sway bar ends links should just be replaced as well as those rear toe bars.

The front sway bar end links and sway bar bushings are another part that tends to need replacing too. Do you have any front end clunks/noises?

You did not tell us where your at which we do need to provide good answers but again I do know your NOT in the US as we did not get the Diesel versions. So we don't have any experience with your engine although the rest of the car is common to both drive trains.

Clubairth1,

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

Am from Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Jag is 2013 XF 2.0L Turbo Gas version base model.

No front end clunk noises thus far. Thank God.

Will check for the boot replacement.

Will the sway bar end links and rear toe bars in as is condition cause any alignment issues and uneven tire wear?

Apart from the below pics, really concerned if anything else needs to be checked at 100000 KM service.

was going to say somewhere hot with little rain.

Transmission service, oil and filter change, and the diff oil change out. Given the temperatures and at the 100K km/60k mile mark.

You may find the rear wishbones upper and lowers rubber boots on the bushes in a similar state, and check the sway bar bushes.
The bushes can be pressed out and replaced on the arms, which my be a cheaper option.

Totally shot rubbers. Given the sand and dusty conditions the ball joints will have to be flushed out and cleaned. Hard to see this being successful.

Generally once you see the rubber boots cracking, it is time to change. When the rubber is totally gone and open to the elements its hard to recover the bearing.

Are you doing this yourself?, if not labour costs mean just change out with OEM type arms and bushes. Jaguar original spares will be very expensive.

Have a hunt around in here for the sizes you need.

Good advice. Fluid changes are the cheapest form of insurance you can buy for your car.
