XF 2011 NZ SatNav Update From Japanese

Hi All!
I hope this isn't yet another "how to update my cars satnav" post as I read quite a few but none of them quite fit my use-case so here I am!
I recently purchased a 2011 Jaguar XF (Japanese import but I am living in New Zealand) but loving it so far.. As per my title I would ideally like to be able to get a copy of the NZ maps onto the system. I have read that the usual way of doing this is via an update DVD you can insert into the system, however I can't find these in stock anywhere or find a 2nd hand copy I can buy either.? Does anyone know if there is a way to locate a copy?
I have heard the maps won't be the latest version (I have heard Jag don't update the older models?) but it would still be good to have the system there as a backup.. I am currently using an aux cable to my phone with google maps (ordering a Iphone Bluetooth interface adaptor).
Looking around I found some of the jaguar maps used to be made by a company called "Sensis" (I don't know 100% if this applies for the x250s)? It seems that they were then bought by a company called Thryv who now have nothing to do with maps or navigation systems in general. Frankly I think it might be worth me reaching out to them to see if they would be amenable (long shot here) to making the old software source code for the maps open source. This would at least allow the community to have a go at building their own map generation software from other map sources, which might even allow older jag owners to keep their SatNav's up to date for free...

Yes I was still a little hesitant myself- I bought the cheaper, older version for $100 (to replace my 2008 maps, so anything was better and I don't often need GPS) , so was willing to risk it... but all went well as it turns out ( another forum member posted about them and had no problems either)

I think that is the same mob that I bought my disc from, the website does not inspire confidence but they were quite legit and the correct disc duly arrived. Thing is, the nav system is so hopelessly outdated that I never use it. Keeping the maps up to date is one thing, but a user-friendly interface that enables views such as you will have come to expect is sadly lacking. Thankfully I usually know where I'm going.

Thanks all for the replies!
Think my best bet at this point looks like going for a install of a 3rd party system (like Jagdroid or compatible alternative). Just don't want to ruin the overall look by putting in a bad looking console system.
Will update if I get anywhere if anyone else wants to do something similar..

I am new to this site and a new owner of a beautiful 2012 XK 150. I have the original Satnav DVD set and I am trying to locate the latest volvo 31489539 DVDs, but I have not found the DVD (one or two in the set?) anywhere for less than about $250, which seems extreme for a DVD that is still quite out of date. Can anyone help me out with a site where I can purchase the DVD for a reasonable cost? Or burn me a copy??
thanks,

I have not done anything, yet! I have just begun to familiarize myself with the nuances of the Jag Sat/nav system and to compare it with Waze. I discovered (although I should have known from the Driver's manual) that when using the Sat/nav the system also shows directions on the dash between the speedo and tach heads. Not quite the heads up display that I am used to on my BMWs, but it is a lot easier than trying to steal a glance at the dimly-lite LCD display showing the map. Therefore, I am leaning towards biting the bullet and getting the updated (well, latest...) map set DVD from Volvo, as I cannot find it on eBay.
