XF Audio interface

My car has everything I could wish for except iPod / USB interface. The current (PIA) interface has only an AUX socket. PIA is hardwired to the Portable Audi Module (PAM) which in turn is linked by data bus to the Integrated Aidio Module (IAM) which controls the complete sound system. According to Jaguar docs the PAM does not need configuration.
My question is: If I replace the PIA with an item with iPod / USB connections does the system have to be reprogrammed in any way, or will it automatically recognise the added interfaces? If it needs reprogramming is it the IAM or is it the Car Configuration File (CCF) which sits in the Juction boxes (the master is the Rear Junction Box (RJB).
