Default XF Battery Disconnect Help

Hi guys,
I am having a few electric anomalies, AC kicking in when button is not pressed, drivers side mirror not dipping in reverse etc.
I think I read somewhere that the first port of call is a battery disconnect.
It is a 2013 XF 3.0 diesel. It seems to have 2 batteries but it's not a stop start model.
Do I need to disconnect both batteries and for how long?

Is there anything else I need to be aware of for example setting the vents to open, any codes that I will need to enter when connecting back up etc.

I would be grateful for any advice.

It is not advised to disconnect the battery of an XF 2012-2015. Well known issue - can lead to a corrupt BCM and render your car a non-starter.

You're best bet is to plug it in for a diagnostics scan to read the fault codes.

That is good to know, I will certainly be leaving it alone now...
The only fault code I have is the temperature sensor which will be done on Friday.

TBH I didn't know that. I thought I had been through all the settings and didn't come across a stop start option. At the moment it is obviously not turned on.

Both batteries will need to be in top condition/charge for it to work. I don't have it myself so no real experience.
Iv'e read that if there is high demand (like AC on) then stop/start won't work as the AC would need the engine running to work correctly!

Just my 2 bob's worth, but I recently had my main battery replaced (I agree that 2 batteries equals stop/start), and, apart from needing to reset windows and a few other systems, everything worked well. I wouldn't shy away from battery disconnection, if it was needed.

I was hoping that would be the answer but it seems there can be a risk.
Did you have to use any codes on re connection?
What was the reset procedure, why the windows?

No codes were needed, I can't remember how to reset the windows, but it was simple. I'll see if I can find the procedure,
