Default XF Color Advice

Hey all. New here. Currently deployed overseas and getting ready to pull the trigger on a new XF. This is clearly a subjective topic but it's always good to hear/read about the pros and cons of a color choice. Where I stand is this: I like black a lot - I have concerns about regretting it as I can get a little ocd with detail work. I really dig the indigo color - anyone out there roll in this color? I'd love to read about your experience with it. And then there's the safe silver choice - it's really just that to me - a safe color that's sharp and somewhat forgiving to minor scratches. Anyway attached are the pics for viewing pleasure. I'd make a poll but I'm not looking for stats, I'm looking for a good discussion about aesthetics and general opinions. Thanks!

Mike

Either of the two dark colors are good.

I vote no on the silver - never been a huge fan. What about white?

Ultimate Black on Raven..... nothing looks better than a pure back car when it is clean and shiny...... of course not too much looks worse than a pure black car when it is dusty and gets hit with 5 minutes of rain......

If you are meticulous and keep it clean you can't beat black..... if you are a mediocre car owner.... don't go with black.

Our last truck was a F-350 crew cab dually in black, my wife kept it up, but it was a full day per week during the summer.... the Jag is only about 3 hours a week...

I'm kind of prejudice on the subject...I've owned two Jags and both were Green.

But, when you hear or see the name JAGUAR, you think Britsh Racing Green, IMO

a CLASSIC color for Jaguar..nuff said

I own a 2011 XF Supercharged in Ebony and this is my first car in black. Nothing offsets the chrome work better than the the dark background. As mentioned the maintenance is much higher and depending on your location this could be aggravated by the local weather. I live in Southern California and the car is not garaged so dust is the only real factor I deal with. As mundane as black can be, I am very happy with my choice and given the number of people who compliment me on the car they like the color too.

No matter what your choice the drive alone outweighs the exterior color on the car...

Good luck

White (Porcelain) and Silver (Liquid Silver) sells for the most money used. Vapor Grey and Claret the least. The other ones are in the middle.

Yup. I'd have to agree with you on this one. A used car's sale price is determined more by mileage, condition and service history than colour. BTW Dwight, it's Vapour Grey, with a u. It is, after all, and English car.

+1 DPK

Could not agree more with that statement.

However for me its a tie between The new metallic HGD green and the old anthracite black PED.

Are they offering a metallic black for the newer jags? I've never looked into that.

This is great feedback guys! DPK, my hat's off to your British Racing Green jag. That is definitely legit and awesome. That's commitment to the original Jaguar style. I'm same way about my Triumph motorcycle (Thruxton 900). I think people are right for the most part. Nothing does make the chrome pop like a darker color as opposed to the silvers and whites. This is good stuff.

When I was looking for my new Jag, I found two early cars for 2012 on the dealer lot that had 10K off up front from Jag because they had been in inventory longer than usual. One was black and one was Claret (Radience red) high metallic. I had never had red cars before, but now I have two. The red Jag just looked sportier next to the black one. I had a black RR recently and it was time consuming trying to keep it looking clean. Also in my climate, a black car is not the best colour to have. I love my red Jag

I vote for Caviar

Sometimes it looks Deep Maroon, sometimes black and sometimes brown.
