Question XF FM Radio reception

Hi All,

Another niggle with my 58 XF is the radio reception.

In a morning when cold, the FM reception is rubbish. It gets even worse when the rear heated screen is on.
Later in the day when warm, its fine.

Is this a poor connection in the boot somewhere?
Is it the rear screen? all of the elements seem to be working to clear the screen.
Is it connected to the satnav / camera issue in any way?

All suggestions and comments are very welcome.

both my XF's have had HORRIBLE FM reception. I never looked into it because I ended up just using XM.

UPDATE:

I found some of the antenna lines to be broken on the rear screen.
I used a product to repair the lines : Granville Rear Heater Repair

The reception has been improved massively and the heated screen only interferes if i have a weak fm signal.

any pictures of this since I have the exact same problem.
it is very weird, below about 40-45 F my fm reception it just horrible, even worse if I turn the rear defroster on. Once the temp gets above 45 degrees its as if there was never a problem at all.

Photo's below are of the repair I've done to the rear screen Antenna.

I need to give the screen a good clean as there is residue from the masking tape still present.

I masked off either side of the line and painted the stuff on, filling in the gaps.

The radio reception is now as it should be. There is still some interference from the heated screen when its cold but no where near as bad.
Hope this helps.
