Default Xf won't start - security issue

This is more of a commentary than complaint or rant. Have a question though.

It's been 2 wks+ since I've had a chance to start the Jag. Got in.... Everything worked but it clicked when I pressed start. Eventually I used the key fob to lock then unlock. It started right up. Is this known behavior? Should I normally press unlock to re sync the key? What time does it take to lose sync with the security system?

On occasion mine will not respond to the first push of the starter button. If I release the brake and then push the brake pedal a bit harder, then push the starter button, it starts right up.

Not sure if that would help your situation but mine sits for longer periods sometimes as well. Haven't made the correlation of those two conditions though. I will watch to see if it's that way.
