Default XFR Coolant leak, remove gearbox?!

Hi, so my XFR decided to dump all of it's coolant a few weeks ago.

I took it to a garage, and they are saying there is a water pump leak (surprising because this was replaced not too long ago) and a leak from the back of the engine.

They're quoting £400 inc vat for the water pump replacement, but to do the leak at the back, they're saying they'll need to drop the gearbox (Another £700 inc vat on labour alone).

I'm hesitant because the gearbox has just been fully refurbished by a ZF specialist and is still under their warranty. But more so because I thought to get to the rear coolant pipes the supercharger needed removing,... not the gearbox.

Does anyone know of any pipes back there that need the gearbox to be removed to fix them? Or are they just misguided?

Thanks

Seems like most of the coolant leaks from the back require the supercharger pulled. If you pull the supercharger, replace the coupler if you haven’t already. From what I’ve read a cheap water pump replacement could fail/leak prematurely.

Folks on here have done the entire coolant pipe replacement. Supercharger definitely has to come out for some of those. I've never seen anyone drop the gearbox
Now - maybe that's an easier way to get access to the damaged pipes but I don't think it's normal

Search on here for the workshop manual (7000 page pdf in a Dropbox). It will give them step by step on how to do it. With pictures...
