Default XFR Engines For Purchase

Does anyone know in the USA who sells XFR engines. The finance guy in Jag dealer mentioned that it only 8K for an engine ?

I do not need one I just would like to know in case I blow mine up - ROLF

Maybe that's for a used one. I've heard $30k+ for a new one.

^ Yep, these prices are more accurate. Mine did blow up, and if I could source a new XFR engine for $8k I wouldn't even consider rebuilding it.

Maybe he's referring to the price on the black market after this happened? (Incidentally, if anyone has a hookup....... )

LOL I'll take a hot one too! Same thing has happened to GM and Ford in previous years.

When mine ceased we did a search and there were VERY few available. The cheapest one was on ebay for $15,000 with > 60,000 miles and no warranty.

Retail with dealer install is close to $40,000 brand new I am told.

It's amazing given you can buy a 2010 XF 5L supercharged on eBay for about $17k Engine plus all the rest of the car (fully working)...

Funny you mention the price of the vehicle vs a new engine. When I was at my dealer for annual service last week one of the employees said they recently replaced an engine due to coolant loss. It was covered by warranty, however Jaguar would only pay up to the amount the car was worth. So the owner had to pay $6k of the $30k.
