Default XFR Facia Clock

I have seen in some YouTube videos a shot of the dash where the clock in the facia (between the Speedo and Tach) is an analog clock.

Mine is a digital clock and I can't work out how to change it.

Can someone please enlighten me.

Thanks

Mine is an analog clock and it is hard to see it very well. I'd prefer a digital one there. I keep looking to the center screen to view the clock.

Thanks Lew,

so there must be a way to change the clock view. If we can track down a solution we will both be happy!

Although the 2012 XF electronics are same as the XJs, I haven't found a way to change it.

For one, I wish I could get rid of the clock altogether and change it to some other useful information (digital speedometer or something else engine-information related). With a clock on the GPS display it seems too redundant to have another one directly in your face. When I recently test drove the new Audi S6, you could put info (song info, GPS info, etc) into that similar area. Now that was a nice feature as it kept you from looking down and right to see what you need to know.

I'm going to call Jaguar today and ask. I'll post the findings here.

Default Direct from Jaguar

The analog clock in the facia (not on the touchscreen-screensaver) is only an option on the European Jaguars. This is not an option on the North American vehicles, you cannot change it. - that according to Jaguar USA

So my question now is - Lew, if you are in Atlanta, where did your car come from. I am assuming a North American source. If so, you may have a rare feature on that car!

BTW, the help line was actually extremely helpful and went to great lengths to get someone knowledgeable on the phone. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

DSmith,

That has been my only main issue about the car. My 2005 7 series and my 2004 A8 have that feature between the speedometer and tach. That makes it annoying when I get in my XF. You'd think that it would have been put into the XF. If not in the MY09-11, than definitely in the MY12 going forward. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the XJ that I test drove had that capability.

My car was originally shipped to Nalley Jaguar, since bought out by Hennessy Jaguar. I bought my car from Hennessy Jaguar North Point in Atlanta, GA. I think they gave you the wrong information, as another '12 XF they had, had the same analog clock.

The 2012 XF's have completely different modules and software packages for the instruments and touch screens compared to the 2011 and back models. This includes an analog clock between the gauges (when not in paddle shift mode). There is no option avaiable to change it.

Axil,

thanks, that's the most informative answer I have so far, and makes sense.

My 2012 XF Portfolio has the analog clock in the fascia also. I wish I could replace it with the gear indicator that is displayed in that spot only in Sport mode when using the paddle shifters. I would rather see that in Drive mode as well since there is a digital clock in the nav display.

Axial is correct, the center display was changed in 2012. Not only is the clock analog, which cannot be changed, it is also a full color display. Most noticeable is the fuel indicator, it is a light blue with a red area towards empty. This is identical to what I had in my 2007 XK. I wish I had it in my 2010 XF. The monochrome display is boring and also looks out of place at night with all the blue back-lit instruments.
