XFR Gas Mileage Question - MPG City Driving

As mentioned in a recent post, I've just purchased a '12 XFR. Amazing car! Power, handling, aesthetics...just about the whole package.
Gas milage on the highway is about at the recommended level, but my city driving is coming in at under 10 MPG. Is this typical? I'm not in Sport mode and not mashing the accelerator either. When I took the car back to the dealer to have some accessories installed, I asked them to take a look and see if there might be an issue with the ECU or something else....They said it all looked OK.
Any advice?

City fuel economy is very variable. Idling wastes fuel and this factor is impossible to quantify. The newest stop/start systems just coming onto the European market are headed our way. This will make city fuel economy much more predictable and uniform. The stop in the stop and go wastes a significant amount of the fuel consumed.

I'd say for city driving, I am probaly between 12-13 mpg. Are you having your trip computer reset for each trip or you doing a cumulative average? Your car should have an A, a B and an Auto reset which restarts the trip calcs each time you start the car. Try the auto setting which resets every time you restart to see how you are doing for each run of the car. I was below 10 mpg early on.

This is for a 2010 XFR: During "real" city driving (stop and go, lots of lights, heavy traffic), I get around 20L/100km, which is between 11 and 12 MPG. Luckily I drive mostly suburban, where I'm typically getting 13-15L/100km (15-18 MPG). On highways I will see between 10-12L/100km, or 19.5-23.5mpg. I've also noticed that economy declines sharpy in the winter, more so than the other cars I've driven.
