Default XFR-S - No Longer a Pipe Dream

I'm surprised no one has posted anything about the upcoming XFR-S.

LINK LINK

Personally, not a fan of the STI-esque spoiler, but the rest of the car looks pretty good.

I was planning on getting a 2012 XFR in 2014/2015, but this car will likely change those plans, especially if available in French Racing Blue!

want

LOL at the article you posted a link to,

"Word has it Jaguar has slipped the 550 horsepower supercharged V8 from the XKR-S behind the headlights of the four-door XFR-S." Don't tell them that Jaguar only makes one 5.0 V8 and Eaton only has 1 part number for the Supercharger they sell Jaguar (confirmed at SEMA last week)

I'm sure we will finally be able to spank the V-series caddy's now but you will be paying through the nose for every horse..

CTS-v is faster to 60 by what 2 tenths of a second and thats with the XF running on crappy Dunlap tires. The car to beat is the new 2013 M5 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and about the same size as my XF. I love it, hope the XFR-s is faster but it will need All wheel drive to be.

The only sad thing is it is all visual changes. Wish it had a new powerplant or more power than we are seeing currently.

Anyone know the eaton model# and part # of the XF, XFR, XKR,ETC currently used? I know it is a TVS type but I want specifics to confirm something else I been spying on

R1900. At SEMA last week I walked up to the Eaton booth and asked one of the guys. If I told you I have a car with a R1900 which car do I drive. They eventually guessed a Supercharged Jag. Eaton only has 1 part number for Jaguar all the supercharged cars are running the same air pump.

It's all done with electronics these days. Supercharged engines use similar knock sensor software feedback systems controlling the level of overboost permitted. The closer you get to allowable tolerances the more power you can extract. Be aware that power is much easier to get at than torque. The limit on torque is still bmep before detonation. Power is limited by feasible maximum rpm.

New video of the XFR-S on a mountain road ripping it up. Just incredible.

Sounds mean!
I saw pictures of it yesterday and i gotta say, that ricer wing looks terrible on it. They should have kept it on the XK-RS.

The wing is a $3.5k option which I can't personally see the value of. The standard lip spoiler for the XFR-S is bigger than the XFR with an integrated brake light and is quite nice. It can be specced-up on the Jag website now. $99k!

Sounds pretty good but I'm not crazy about the wing either. I'd prefer a much more regressed wing since the one in the video would look much more at home on a Mitsubishi or a Subaru. That said, I'll bet it drives wonderfully

I love the wing, it's just like the one on my old TE50

NY Times: "Whose idea was that wing? A guest designer from Subaru? Not my cup of Earl Grey." Enough said.

A few months ago someone posted spy photos of the XFR-S and I commented on how hideous the wing looked on that car. This one takes the cake. Other European competitors would never do something like that. Can you see BMW turning the M5 into something out of a Fast and Furious movie?

That wing takes away the sleek look of the XF.. But that sound sure makes up for it..

The good thing is that's an option. The standard one is what's on the speed pack. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...jMOl2bFau41jM:

I don't like the standard one either. It's more for Japanese tuners. If you absolutely have to have a trunk spoiler on a European car, the lip version is the way to go.
