Up to you. 11k is a good amount of cash. The updated front end and multimedia/nav are what you'd be paying $11k for. Seems like a bit much but you don't want to buy the 2011 and be pissed later on you didn't get the 2012. I'd get a 2010-2011 XFR.

I agree with Blackcoog. Either XFR or 12 XFSC.

The 2012 facelifted cars are much more than just a prettier face. Many improvements were made. The suspension settings on the 2012 are much better in my opinion, just for example. The 2012 were made easier to build and quality took another improvement step. Unless money is important I'd buy the 2012.

The Supercharged cars are every bit as good as the XFR if you prefer a less aggressive setup. Also, there is no difference between the SC and XFR engines except software. I don't even think the XFR has a different supercharger drive pulley, it's all in the software.

The seats in the 2012 are better as well as the other items mentioned. How much warranty left on each? The 2011's had 5 years, the 12s 4 years. In think the price on the 12 should come down. I bought my 11sc new with 100 miles at 55 k. Unfortunately our
jags depreciate quickly. How important is the money to you? How long do you plan on keeping the car? I'd lean towards a lower price and getbthe 2012 contingent on answers to above. I don't believe mechanically the xfrs are any different, love the looks and seats. The 2012 SC do have the hood scoops which I like. You didn't mention color choices? Enjoy the shopping.

I'm getting the 11 xf s/c with 6.5 K miles tomorrow for $43.5. If you can get one for $40k, go for it. The differences mentioned aren't worth $14K, imo. $14K can get you a very decent winter DD. The warranty length is the same...
Just my .02

Just for price comparisons - I bought a 2012 XFR fully loaded for $69k last December. It was literally the last one in So. Cal. Color is Polaris White with grey interior. Love it. Only changes: Mina exhaust, window tint, darkened rims, aluminum foot pedals and trunk piece. I recently drove a 2012 Maserati GT. XFR is definitely faster although Mas was really really fun to drive and the exhaust note is wonderful.

The B&W systems and parking sensors could be the winning features to go with the '11 (and the money).

The XFR has slightly different front and rear trim treatment. It will also have all the standard options including 20" wheels with the possible additional inclusions of a heated winshield, jet suedecloth headliner, adaptive cruise control with intelligent emergency braking, race inspired paint, red brake calipers, or the black pack kit as well as the red brake calipers.

Well, and also over 500 bhp, let us not forget the distinguishing feature. No points on your license? The XFR is a no brainer. Trouble keeping your right foot off the carpet? Go for the non supercharged V8. Easy choice.
