XJ6 1992 Fuel Problem
Well, I signed up years ago, but after awhile, I just covered up my old 1992 XJ6 and it sat there for awhile, and I lost contact with the Forum. Brought the Jag to life again recently, and still have my same old problem of 10 years ago of "hard starting and apparent fuel supply problem". So, I still have the same problem and it still seems to be very prevalent to XJ6 owners. (The fuel pump was replaced 10 years ago at 60K m. It now has 111K miles on it.)
In short, it is very difficult to start, but runs great after starting. Have changed fuel pump relay several times, with a "little" improvement. Right now I can hear the pump running; I have good pressure fuel in the fuel rail manifold (as determined by loosening the fittings at each end of it and activating the relay so that fuel gushes out in apparent good pressure. I have tried all of the usual remedies of switch on/off, on/off. Re-setting the computers, etc. But, after it sits overnight, it does not want to start. I apparently have a stop up somewhere between the rail and the cylinders --- the injectors perhaps or the injector activator????? Sure could use some advice on this one, as I would like to get this thing going again before I am too old to drive.
