New TPS floors-it on startup!! How do I recalibrate/reset the TPS (and do I need to?)
#21
Based on my bad experiences I don't recommend messing with the TPS!
But you asked - The TPS is fixed to the TB with 2 screws (Star-headed, kind of Torx-headed just with a few more lobes).
If you loosen these screws you can adjust (turn) the TPS which changes the position of the butterfly in the TB.
My advice would be to let a dealership do te calibration/adjustment.

Does not seem fine to me. I know these cars are supposed to let off lightly, instead of abruptly, but it sounds like yours takes a bit too long. Mine lets off smooth, but definitely slows down properly.
I thought the EXACT same thing, until I realized it's 12 years old and still working as designed. Maybe it's ok.
Me personally, I would definitely mark the position and TRY it. You don't have much to loose. Just do it in very small increments and move it back if ineffective.
But, that's just me. Dive in head first and hope I don't crack my head open in an empty pool.
