$1400 - to quote my daugher "OMGWTFBBQ".

Ok, I'm guessing this is parts & labor, which is expected. To install the bluetooth gizmo you need 3 parts: a "phone module" aka PSE - goes in the tunk in the driver side stack, a bluetooth antena module - goes in the center console; and a microphone - goes next to your overhead console.

The PSE is priciest piece, I scored one from eBay, but dealer prices are not for the weak of heart. Microphone and bluetooth antena are not that expensive - PM jag_genuis - he may give you a good price.

To check if you have PSE, press the "phone" button - if it says "phone not fitted" you need a PSE module.

I installed it myself and I have two left hands. In the sticky post in the forum , check the "handbook download" - that web page has "accesory fitting instuctions" - you can find the instructions for the bluetooth module instalation. The trickiest part is not to scratch your wood veneer when you remove the center console - works well with two people.

Read the instructions and let us know what you decide on the install.

I just found this eBay listing. They are selling the CD changer with the PSE module.

If you decide to bid on it, check with your jag dealer that it can support te bluetooth adapter. The PSE part number is 2W93-19k350-AD. I'm 99% sure this one would work, mine was -AC, which is a tad older, but it never hurts to double check. Some old modules don't work with bluetooth.

If you don't have the premuim audio system you can fit an aftermarket bluetooth kit as well. The ones made by Parrot seem to be the most popular.

Not as neat as the factory option, but defenitely more affordable.

I have a PSE Module 2W93-19k350-AD. This is the module only. I bought it with the intention of installing but will now be selling the car. It is functional and available for $300

Does that work through the stereo? I would like to get a bluetooth setup and I have the premium audio, but all these caveats have me worried. Would be awesome to talk on the phone via touchscreen...

Aftermarket kits, don't integrate with the car touchscreen. You get a separate display gizmo which you mount somewhere on the dash.

Aftermarket kits work by cutting between your amp and the speakers. When the phone module is active it "takes over" the speakers, otherwise it lets the factory stereo control the speakers.

When you have premium audio there are several issues: First you have 12 speakers, which may be a bit too much for the bluetooth gizmo to control. Second your amp is in the trunk, so you need to route wires trough the whole body of the car.

Default Jabra Cruiser

I actually just bought a Jabra Cruiser bluetooth car kit off ebay for a song. You clip it to the visor (or anywhere, really), and it will automatically pair with your phone once youre in range. When you have a call it will audibly announce the name of the caller and/or their phone number. You just press the little button and youre free to speak. The caller's voice will come through the built in speaker, OR you can use the built in FM transmitter to pipe it through your car speakers. You can also use the FM transmitter to play any songs you may have on your phone (but FM transmitters suck for that purpose, generally). You charge it via a car charger or usb cable, and the battery lasts at least 2 weeks if youre a light user. Its a really nice looking thing too - gloss (piano?) black with chrome accents.

Hi veffremov,

I realize this is an old post but were you able to get your bluetooth working with PSE 2W93-19k350-AC or did you have to update your PSE?

Default Will PSE 2W93-19k350-AC Work With Bluetooth

Can someone confirm whether the bluetooth module would work with PSE 2W93-19k350-AC. I realize this is an old module but I thought I read where someone was able to use this PSE.

Mine was 2r83-19k350-ac and it worked with no updates. 2r83 is the platoform code for S-Type. 2W93 is for the XJ.

Thanks veffremov for the prompt response. I recently purchased a sweet Zircon Blue 2004 XJR with Dove interior that I just pick up from, believe it or not a 65 year old lady, who pampered this car. One would expect someone her age to be cruising in a VDP instead of an R but I'm not complaining as I know this car was never driven hard and dealer maintained!

It has Nav, Phone, Voice, Multimedia PKG and the 20" Sepang wheels along with the standard options. The only flaws would be a little curb rash on the 20's but nothing major. Thanks again for the info. I will be ordering my BT Module today!

Default Looking for a source for the PSE

I'm looking for some help on finding a PSE. I have the factory-fitted analog AT&T Motorola V60 phone and of course it is totally useless now that AT&T has switched off their analog service. I tried a newer GSM based motorola V551 phone but no joy, the car says no phone when I plug it into the armrest holder so I guess there is some special firmware in the V60i that makes it unique to Jaguar (no surprise there then!).

I have the -AA PSE and have been told by the dealer that I need the -AC or later PSE if I want to go the BT route. Can anyone help me find a reasonable source for the PSE? My local dealer want $592 for the module and $200 for the BT module. I am OK with the BT module price but the PSE is just a bit too rich for me! I have scoured ebay and the web with no luck, they sure seem to be rare. All the local scrappers have never even seen an 04+ XJ, let alone one with a bluetooth module.

Thanks

- Tim

Default PSE Module available AD Level

I have a PSE module available. The P/N is 2W93-19K350-AD
This came from an XJ8. I also have the trunk mounting bracket. I do not have the wiring to the module. I will sell this for $200 if interested.
