Default New Shoes for my 06 Super V8 Portfolio!

Since I purchased my jag 2 years ago, I always felt that the Calisto wheels that were on it needed something. They were dull and no matter what I did I couldn't make them look clean and shine to my liking. I didn't want to spend many thousands on new wheels so I searched and searched to no avail. I finally decided to purchase a set of wheels from USARIM for $995. I am very pleased with the new look!

Your new rims look great, they really compliment the car well!

What are your plans for the rims and tires you took off?

Thanks Guys. I do plan to sell the Calistos. However, I do know that one of them had a few cracks repaired and has cracked again. I don't know from a safety stand point if the wheel can be fixed or is toast. I was using the spare up until I purchased these new wheels. I will clean, inspect and post a few pictures this weekend if you guys would be interested.

You realise that your car is one of only 265 produced worldwide, & 1 of only 145 sold in the US. Keep the original wheels. When it's time to sell the car then put them back on.

@jagcrue1

I do like the wheels, but have to agree with Cambo. Keep the wheels and swap them back on when you come to sell the car. I would imagine people who are willing to pay the premium to get a Portfolio car expect all of the unique Portfolio bits to still be on it. Are the new wheels 19" or 20" ?

I am having the same issues as you with the Callistos, ie I have now cracked 2. I have had them repaired and they are holding up fine, however when I went to get new tires, the tire folks refused to touch the repaired wheels :-( My wheels are also showing signs of age too (scuffed and not all the same finish with some being kind of dull and some kind of shiny) I am in the process of going round wheel repair shops to see what options I have. I think the wheels are just polished, not painted, but so far the only "improvement" suggestions I have had from the repair shops are to paint them, which I don't want to do. oh well...

I do realize the rarity of the car and have contemplated keeping the wheels. I have received the same response a you sarc from local tire, wheel, polishing companies. They have all recommended having them painted/powdercoated. I also looked into having them chromed which was cost prohibitive. I was also concerned with trying to find a replacement in the future should I crack/bend, which I believe is inevitable. You are correct that the wheels are polished with what I believe is a poorly done clearcoat. The new wheels are 20" 8.5, same as the calistos.

Callistos should be 20x9? Not 8.5...

Default Nice wheels

The new wheels look very nice. I just upgraded to the Sentas yesterday, also. The look is far more modern than my Custom Style chrome wheels that were on my Super V8. I also rebadged her boot to the 2008 XJ Portfolio look. I went with the hypersilver finish to tone down the chrome of my car a bit.

Cheers!

Cambo,

How do you get this information? Is there a website listing it? I am curious about those numbers concerning my 2008 XJ L.

Unhappy Fitment

How did you get the 20" Sentas to fit without rubbing on the rear? I have a set of sentas I just installed on my 04 XJ and they rub on the back whenever I go over the smallest bump. 255/35/20 tires on the front and 275/35/20 on the back. I would appreciate the help guys

Default Wheel fit

My wheels are not staggered. All 4 are 255/35/20. I believe the only car jag made with the staggered setup was the xk series. None of the xj series had staggered wheels to my knowledge.

I know that the the XJ is not staggered, however the Senta Wheels are only made staggered. I have yet to come across a square set of Sentas.. :/ If you know anywhere I would be able to get a pair of fronts for my XJ, let me know. Thanks

Try S.B Wheels (SB Wheels). They are pretty helpful and shipped a couple of Sepang's to me in New Zealand when I had my X350.
