At first look I didn't like them but as time goes on im starting to like them more and more and was wondering if this was possible. The only problem I see is that darn orange light on the fender... Im already sold on that front bumper of the 08's as they make the "CAT" transform into an out right muscle headed "Lion" !!!! I am falling deeply in love with this vehicle and am in great anticipation of picking her up this wk.......

The oem fender vent require a lot of modification, at least as far as I can tell.
I did order the fender vents from Welsh Enterprises - New Jaguar Parts, Used Jaguar Parts and Accessories - XK120 - XK140 - XK150 - E-Type - MK - XJ6 - XJ8 - XJ - XK8 - XK - XJS - S-Type - X-Type - XF last week. I have not received them yet but I too am looking forward to them, they are very cool looking.

I will make it work. It should cover the side turn light.
I should have them buy the middle of next week, I'll let you know.

I would be curious as well since the cars that came with them had different fenders with a depression for the trim to sit it and give it a streamlined look as opposed to a surface stick on.
See the pic below.
Also you will probably need to change out your mirrors and wiring for the new mirror mounted turn signals I believe.

ok, I got my fender vents Friday. I placed them on the fender just to see where they are going to go and figured out that they will fit between the aft edge of the front wheel well and the side marker without crowding either. The shape seems to be almost perfect. I ordered two Jaguar badges off Ebay that I know will not look exactly oem but it will be very close. I think only those on this forum would ever be able to spot it. I just figured out how to modify the inside edge of the vent so I can mount it properly. I will take some pictures along the way and let those interested know how it goes. I'm jazzed. Yes I know I have other preventive maintenance to do but I just have to do this first!

Me too am very interested in seeing what this is going to look like, I would love to ad this to my 04 XJR. I did talk to Chris over at MINA Gallery, and he is still working on a prototype that would work. So nothing on their end at this time, FYI the one he was working on we would to remove the side marker light.

I have actually been out of town, I just finished it last night. I took pictures and will upload them today. I coulda woulda shoulda done in different but I'm pleased with the outcome. If your a Jag purest then don't look. I have noticed on this forum if it's not OEM then you get hacked up and spit out. In America our cars are and extension of who we are. Customize your car and make it yours. There will be those that don't like it. I have two things to say 1st, Don't do it to your car and 2nd, too bad so sad! I like it! I kill me ;-)

I added classic leaper fender badges. I liked it better than getting the Jaguar XJ8 trunk badge and it costs a 1/3 as much. I placed them about 3.33 inches down from the upper fender crease (for lack of a better word) and 6.25 inches forward from the door seal.
I removed the double sided tape that came with the fender vents and used the hot glue to build a foundation that would lay flush with the fender. Actually just about 1/32 of an inch under to allow the glue a seat during installation. I used the large hot glue stick slices as spacers and installed them to the fender vents. Double checking them for proper height and that they lay well on the fender. I used 7 inches as my dimension from the trailing edge of the fender vents to the door seal.
I installed the fender vents using the large hot glue gun and large sticks with a hi power setting for heavy duty applications.
I'm very happy with the installation of the fender vents although I would have done a few things different second time around, maybe.
Biggest change would be after laying out the vents temporarily with masking tape I would have decreased the actual glued area with tape and painted the underlying area with flat black to complete a "Shadowed" look under the vent when finished.
Also I might have sanded the ridge or edge of the vent on a belt sander the decrease the trailing edge height and try to achieve a more flushed look.
I might do both of those things later anyway but for now I'm jazzed with the end result, and its mine!
Does it look like the fender is cut out for the OEM vent, no.....Will anybody that's not a Jag **** retentive lug nut be able to tell its fake...I doubt it.
Happy motoring!

Very cool. Thanks for sharing the pics. As long as you like them, that is all that matters. Although, they don't look like the factory vents Jaguar uses.
Edit: Never mind, I think I see what you did. You modified them and used leaper badges instead of the thin JAGUAR logo.

The trunk badges are $50 each. I made a mistake and tried to order something else entirely that was the wrong plan, I do have some extra after market jag badges, might look good I my tool box. I found these leapers on ebay and because they were legacy I went for it. I've spent over $100 trying not to spend $100 (I think I get click happy on ebay) Likely by the end of summer I might buy the trunk badge with the script "Jaguar XJ8" and trim the edge of the fender vent for a more flush look as well as spray black paint under the vents before re-installation. Hind sight is 20/20. One of my favorite sayings.....experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
