After some extensive searching I have found the OEM socket for the side marker lights that rust over time. Now you do not have to make a socket, or buy the whole marker at the high price. Note: the socket is for VW, and Audi too. Hope this helps

Nice find on those sockets! Have you ordered them and confirmed they are correct?
Your post inspired me to search that VW part number and I found two sources with the sockets priced at $12.62 each. The part diagram doesn't look right, but the VW part number is the same. It's interesting, but not surprising, that this part number shows up on a Ford parts page.
BTW, I paid $31.85 each plus postage for the entire lamp/socket assemblies at jaguarmerriamparts.com, so by Jaguar standards they're not totally outrageous if your lamps are damaged as mine were:
Now that you've found the sockets available separately, I wonder if we could search them by the Valeo number and find an even less expensive source? It's pouring rain outside right now or I'd be tempted to go pull a sidemarker to look at the Valeo part number.
Searching these numbers I have not yet found a vendor that will sell in small quantities. For example, here's one of several I found that have a minimum order of 100 units:
Thanks to Luke's research in tracking down the VW cross-reference part number for the X350 sidemarker lamp bulb sockets, I ordered a pair from VW Parts Nation (vwpartsnation.com) at $12.62 each plus $7.99 shipping. Just search the VW part number 1H0949111 or 1H0-949-111 and shop for the best price including shipping.
They are definitely the correct part, probably made in Germany by Valeo:
With the part number information previously reported, I hope someone will also find an affordable source of the harness electrical connectors in small quantities.
I have added the information about these sockets to my post about servicing the sidemarker lamps:
Anytime. if you have other hard parts to find I am willing to try to find them. I can tell there are many other members who can to, but I more person looking never hurts.
now find the connector part number. Thats a much bigger issue than the socket when corroded.
okay ill repeat myself again
Brutal,
Three part numbers for the connector were reported in Post 8 of this thread, and I've found several sources with a minimum order of 100 units. We have not yet found a source that will sell them in small quantities, but I'm confident that with a member as willing and persistent as Luke on the job, we will. Instead of giving others a hard time for discovering new and more affordable repair options, why don't you use your Tech Certified expertise to help?
And for the record, when I replaced my rear sidemarker lamps, the sockets were in worse shape than the harness connectors:
Don i realize that but without pics hard to tell as the term connector has been thrown around loosly. at my level i dont worry about the bulb socket as many times i am replacing the whole assembly since cracks in the lens or housing from heat has let water in and caused corrosion. Most the times of the bulb holder, other times corroded the harness connector. I used to have spares cut from harnesses over the years i save but have long ago used them all up. Now if really bad and un repairable i end up using small crimp connectors to connect. But i have always been a fix like new type person and try to avoid lessor repairs(except for $1500 hid headlight assemlies and a screw repair)
bulb grease is a big plus on the areas to stop corrosion of the socket and the connector and i use it on all repairs. And if the housing is crack when i replace bulbs and the sockets are good i silicone the cracks closed on the housing. Jaguar supplies pins to repair circuits but never connectors which just irritates me to no end. The big offenders are coils, throttle bodies, and a few other areas. Why cant you make readilly avail connector for repair instead of thinking i want to charge a customer for a harness and the required labor to change it? But im just a low man on the totem pole so what do i know

Excellent points, Brutal.
For Jaguar models in years past, the Electrical Guide would have a few pages of electrical connector illustrations that gave the name of the manufacturer or brand name (Econoseal, Multi-Lok, etc.). At least then it was usually possible to go find a source for that style connector (Mouser, Digi-Key, the racing and tuning suppliers, etc.). Those diagrams seem to have disappeared in the X350 Electrical Guide, and you're absolutely right - Jaguar should make the connectors and pin repair parts readily available.
That socket is the same as used on the replacement markers
for the X308. Except that it has a FORD part number.
Yes, see Post #8.
The mating harness connector, from some fuzzy memory, is
a pretty common fuel injector connector.
It does look like a Bosch EV1 fuel injector connector, except an EV1 has only 1 "tab" on the plastic surround of the male half of the connector, while these bulb sockets have 2 tabs. A little research into fuel injector connectors just might turn up the correct part.
