Wipers in horizontal position

Wipers in Vertical position-Update
I left my wipers on and when I woke up in the morning and started the car the weight of the snow messed them up. When they are turned off they sit in the vertical position instead of horizontal which is annoying while driving. I would like to fix it but I'm not sure where to start. Would the issue be at the blade arms or at the mechanical mechanism ?

Remove arms at spigot by removing plastic domed cap first.
Using socket remove nut on spigot then pull off arm.
It may need a bit of careful movement up and down before it will detach.
Examine splines on arm and spigot for damage.
If splines on arm stripped replace arm.
Replace arm in park position.
Test wipers

There is a park switch associated with the motor.
I believe that it is a PITA to get to it.

Reason I was looking, was the wipers sometimes fail to park correctly on a single wipe when the car is cold. The wipers overshoot the park position and rest about 3" higher. When the car warms up all is well.

I googled a shop and found a place that specializes in Land Rover and Jaguar. I called and spoke to the owner which asked me a few questions and told me that I shouldn't need a new motor. He fixed it this morning and explained to me how the motor transmission had just gone out of alignment so he made adjustments. He replaced the wipers and cabin filter and the total bill came to $190 tax inc. I was very impressed with his honesty and price as they worked on it for a couple of hours. I'm happy that the wipers are fixed and that I found a great place to take the car for repair
