2005 Vanden Plas transmissions
I am trying to determine what - if any- differences exist in the XJ8/VDP transmissions from 2004-2007.
I thought these were essentially the same component transmissions - but I am seeing different information:
2004-2006
2006-2008
2003-2004
2004-2005.
I have a 2005 VDP with VIN ending G39369.
Can I use a2006 pr 2007 transmission? Are there compatibility swaps needed-
Help!
Thanks,
Dan

Welcome to the forum Dan,
There's five different transmissions listed against each engine size in the Parts Catalogue dependent on VIN:

Not to say one from an earlier range won't physically fit but I'll leave it to the model experts to advise on possible compatibility issues.

Thanks for the reply.
As stated- I have a VDP (non-supercharged) vin G39369.
I'm looking for a new tyranny- But if the 2007 will bolt up and the computer accept it - it's a better deal...
