2007 S-Type Replacement?
Hello All,
I have a 2007 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 In blue frost over ivory that I purchased off of the showroom floor brand new. About a month ago, I drove through a large puddle and the car has been in restricted performance ever since and I am not sure if I want to invest any more money in the car. I have looked at F-Pace's and was very impressed with the technology, and style the SUV provides, but I want an XF. The new XF interior quality is nothing like the previous generation, and I was quite disappointed with the leather quality. If I recall correctly, the old XF had real soft grain leather on the dash and doors. Though the price on CPO XF's is more ideal, I am okay with the XJ short wheelbase because I'd like to stay around the same size. I do not need another large sedan as I have a 2016 S-550 for that. What do you guys think about going from S-Type to an XJ? My budget is 30k-40k ideally, so what years should I look at? The 2016 facelift looks amazing. Thanks.
Sorry she is dirty...

Well the XJ is a MUCH larger car than an S Type is even in the SWB version.
I came from a 2005 STR to a 2014 XJR. Very different cars so I would drive an XJ and see what fits you best.
Very happy with the XJR and have had it about 1.5 years and 15K miles with a total of ZERO problems so far!!
Can't say that about my STR but they were pretty small repairs/problems. No engine/transmission problems so stuff like the DCCV and other cooling repairs. Plus I drove the STR over 100K miles as my daily driver before upgrading to my XJR.

That's kinda how I got one!
I was shopping for an XFR to replace my S Type R and loved that Kyanite blue color but they are very rare and when I did find one the terrible trade in offer on my STR put me off the deal.
Drove my XJR and was sold right away. Very satisfying car to drive. Power, brakes, handling.
Just remember it's a Jag so steep depreciation dues!
