A friend of mine bought a 2010 supercharged XJL about two years ago and has been trying to sell it. Dealers have been very hesitant to take the car due to the car not going on sale until 2011.
From what he can find out this was a pre production run where they made 60 cars and of those 60 14 made it to the US.
Is this a BS story the dealers are feeding him or is there some truth to it?
Most dealers are low balling in with 18-20k offers he did find another 2010 XJL that was listed for 37k with the same options (entertainment package screens in the headrest etc)
If this saga turns out to be accurate would the handful of 2010s that are in the country be worth more than their 2011 counterparts? The car has some 60k miles on it.

You would think if the car should have been sent in to get crushed he would not have been able to register it?
Is it possible some of the early 2011 cars were called 2010?
