Default 2011 XJ, Parking aid module, where is it?

I have 2011 XJ supercharged with 78k on ODO. Recently bought the car and i love it! Its amazing and the only thing annoying is that the parking sensors are not working. When Reverse is selected, the screen reads along the lines of Parking aid not working, contact dealer.
Another thing is the rear camera works with ignition on and engine not running, but with engine running the camera wont come on.
Removed the rear bumper and all seems normal, all were connected and seems ok.

Does anyone knows where the parking aid module is located and if this can be the culprit as it is the only thing left on my list to check.

Took everything out of the back in the trunk but no luck there. This are the only modules hidden behind the carpet.
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

THX

The parking sensor module on an X351 is in the front left base of the A pillar. You need to remove the carpet cover to get to it.

I've attached some documents that describe the system, troubleshooting steps and how to get to it if you need to change it.

Thank you Mr X for the detailed info!!

Do you know of what kind of tool/software is needed to program the new park aid module, if this need to be changed?
I bought OTC Touch, but i cant see anything with it. Have Ross-Tech that is great diagnostic tool but only for audi and VW.

Will post pictures of progress over the weekend when i return back to the garage and update with the outcome.

Thanks again

Hi,
SDD and a supported interface could be used to program a new module, if it needed it. (It might not need to be programmed.) I would start with the diagnosis tests and work from there.

Have you scanned the car for all DTCs to see if there are other issues you are not noticing?

You mention an issue with the rear camera not working with the engine running, but ok when it is off. Does it also not work in forced mode with the engine running (via the cameras menu or Parking Camera button, I forget which it is on a 2011 model).

The camera wont work at all with the engine running. There is a button on the roof for the Parking aid enable and button on the screen.
Attached are the codes from the OTC Genisys, but nothing to point to the parking aid.

Message appears as soon as the car is started on the screen along the lines of : Parking aid not working , contact dealer.

Thanks

If you start the ignition (but not the engine) and put it into reverse does the warning come up on the screen then as well?

The car has a pop up knob to switch from P to R,N etc and its accessible only with the car running, otherwise is retracted.

Default I’m going through the same thing

I was backing up in my jaguar XJ 2011 in the screen We black then stated the parking asistsjce wasn’t available and to check back with the Jaguar dealer. I took off my car for a minute, I restart it and then it went to normal but I’m concerned about this issue because I just got it out the shop for accident

Mine had bad harness inside the rear bumper. Found one in junk yard in Germany. $100 later, problem solved.
Good luck
