It is always funny to me that people think the longer and louder they protest, the more influence they will have. What will this yahoo accomplish by badmouthing the Jag? Buy the Benz and be happy.......enough of the chest thumping.

Motor Trend's comparison between the A7 vs CLS550 vs XJ

2012 Audi A7 vs 2011 Jaguar XJ vs 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 - Comparison - Motor Trend

I'm not sure I agree with their conclusion, but just another opinion...
American car magazines ALWAYS rank German cars over the British, while admitting the latter's "sexy good looks".

If MT could not do a proper, apple-to-apple comparison, then we should all take the result with a grain of salt.

My questions for you current X351 owners... (1) does the turn warning signal tick like the grandfather clock of ol'? (2) does the leather seat wear and tear easily like the older cars?

It would be interesting to compare the issues on the 2nd year model XJ vs. 1st year. My car is a 2nd year model X350 and has had zero problem (just returned from a 450-mile trip to Santa Barbara and Palm Springs).

1. Yes, the turn signals click loudly--good reminder to turn them off after a lane change or whenever they don't go off automatically. As I recall, all of my Jags did this.

2. I've noticed no wear and tear on my leather and I'm at 18,000 miles.

You can't expect a car manufacturer to put some common sense into you. If you are deceived by a "winter mode button" and somehow think it can magically overcome the laws of physics, well then, enough said...

A sporting version of a car should come with performance summer tires. But if you do decide to drive it in winter, you must take it upon yourself to purchase your own winter tires. That's what I did with my daily driver which normally wears summer tires! Then again, I wasn't deceived with a "winter mode" button, although the car does have a whole host of dynamic vehicle stability controls and a limited slip differential.

Try the same thing on any performance oriented luxury cars equipped with high performance summer tires (Mercedes AMGs, BMW M and the like) and I think you'll find similar results in the snow. Oh, and they all probably have snowflake buttons.

Default popping sounds

I read in some of the posts above about popping ( I called it knocking ) sounds coming from the overhead or sunroof. I do hear that at time.
I stopped at the dealership yesterday and was told "thats in recall"
a part needs to be replaced. EZ-Fix!!

~LATE~
