Default 2011 XJL; driver seat won't move at all...

This is great resource here, have been reading for a long time, but haven't seen any posts on this particular problem.

I've got a 2011 XJL with about 70K miles. So far, have had zero problems with it, and happy as can be with the car. Curiously, the driver's side seat suddenly, and without warning, will not allow any adjustments whatsoever. This is true of all of the 11 or so adjustment modes. The memory buttons on the door also have no impact at all. The driver's side mirror can be adjusted by it's motor, but the memory buttons will not move it back to it's stored location.

I've seen some posts kinda like this about earlier models, but nothing specifically for the newest ones. Does anyone have any insight on this problem??

Thanks in advance for your help!

John

Have you tried re-seating the plugs?

jcwellsq8, in the engine bay fuse box, check fuses F42 and F46 (both 30 amp fuses). Then in the rear fuse box, check out fuse F19 (10 amp). Any of these being blown can cause the computer for the driver's seat to not function properly. if this does not fix things, then let me know and we can take things from there.

Thanks to you both for your responses! JagGate, I wedged my head down to where I could look underneath the seat. Saw two different connectors, a longish black one, and a square gray one, both to the door-side of the driver's seat. Wiggled and pushed them both deeper into their respective sockets, but no joy. Thermo, I then went to check the fuses. F42 and F46 are not in the engine bay fuse box on my model, but did find them on the rear deck fuse box. Both are sound. F19 is not available on the rear deck fuse box (no socket marked as such), but there is an F19 in the engine bay. It is a 30 amp fuse on my model. I looked through the other fuses in both fuse boxes, saw no problems with any off them.

Is the next step to have the dealer hook it up to diagnostics?
