2013 XJL AWD - No Remote Start Available??? What!
I have a deal pending to buy a new 2013 XJL AWD.
I just found out that Jag does not offer this.
I also feel from going through the board that it isn't able to be done by the aftermarket guys yet.
Whats the deal?
Any insight boys.
At -40 at times up here in Edmonton, Alberta, I need this option.
Why build a car for Winter and not have this option.
And if you did, it should be upscale and current, like with iPhone start and tracking.
Thanks guys.
I really like this Car, just sold my 2010 MDX Elite and am walking to work 10 miles on snow and ice....lol, just kidding, borrowed the company 4x4 Silverado.

It is my understanding that "keyless" auto systems need the module/key remote inside the car to unlock the security system and allow the car to start. As a point of fact you can start your car when the keyless remote is in the car and get you and someone can drive away, but they would not be able to restart the car.

Yes, one key would have to be kept in the car at all times, so you loose one key. Thats ok with me, but others with two drivers, maybe not ok.
There is a guy here in Edmonton that does the range rovers.
He figures he can do the jag but at 3500.. not.
Two other guys say it would be a good challenge for them and they have done other high end cars that where impossible, just need a few days with the car.....Its not that big of a thing for me now....The lines in the windshield is the worst thing now for me. We went for a ride last night and it was terrible. I am glad I took the car for overnight demo.... omg.
Returning the car and getting my deposit back
Thanks

If you leave a key in or near the car, the car will not go to sleep, resulting in a dead battery after an hour or so.
Given Jag and a few other similar premium car makers have had to implement auto stop/start for fuel efficiency/emissions requirements in the last year or so, I can't imagine how they could turn around and then offer remote start.
