2016 LED headlamp retrofit to earlier cars (with full functionality)

The headlights were swapped over yesterday. What a ball-ache having to drop the bumper which needs both front wheels off. Fortunately, there are two members of the UK forum that I'm a member of who together are known as "Sunday Club" (work it out). They help out forum members for things like brake pad and disc (rotor) changing, dashcam installs, etc., and have a large garage with a platform lift. This makes raising the car very straightforward and a lot safer than propping on axle-stands.
The swap didn't go without a problem (or in English, a squeaky bum moment). After the headlights had been connected but BEFORE we put the bumper back on, we decided to test them. Initially all seemed well but then strange and random things started to happen with flashing LEDs, indicators not working, one side working but not the other and more. But I then remembered the issue with the fuses and checking F24 & F25 (BOTH of which were 5 amp by the way) found both blown. Replaced with 10 amp and checked again. Still random problems. So checked what other fuses may be involved; F49 and F50 are the adaptive headlight motors L & R. Checked (again, both 5 amp) and yes, both had blown. Replaced with 10 amp. Re-test.
ALL OK!!
No dash fault lights and the auto high-beam assist works perfectly.
It has now been 24 hours since they were fitted and so far so good. I may have to slightly adjust the RH beam - it looks a little low - but apart from that, all good.
Once again, my thanks to xDave for the invaluable information contained in this thread. Kudos!

Nice job and would love to buy a set of the adapters if your electrician friend is amenable to making additional sets as I'm sure there are others that would be interested. Also, love those Blackvue Dash cams as I've an older set of 650s. The RH lamp looks low to me too as the hotspot appears too close.

Which engine do you have? If it's the Euro 6, 3-litre diesel, have you had any oil-dilution issues?

If you're doing a lot of miles in order for the DPF to regenerate properly it won't be an issue. But the dealer should have mentioned it if your daily drive is only a few miles. I'll drop you a PM.

I'd have loved the Autobiography but finances limited me to a 2-year-old (when I bought it) Portfolio.

Wonder if someone could help me fault find where i have gone wrong on the conversion doing it the second less complicated way?
My drivers light all works fine so i have followed the wiring correct
My passenger side is an odd one has the following faults
DRL does not work
indicator only works if side light or head light is on
headlight flashes for about 20 seconds when they come on
high beam flashes
it is almost like the headlight is using power or earth from the side light if that makes sense.
i carried the changes out to the car loom not a separate loom, the colours do not match the drivers side so cant cross reference it
Any thoughts of how to approach fault finding is welcome

A quick update. Had the headlights on for 10 days now and all OK. But I have had the adaptive headlight warning light come on once or twice. No pattern. Seems random.
The system is working (the headlights swivel when turned on and then centres) and the warning disappears after an ignition reset.
Any ideas, anyone?

Came on randomly during trip.
Lights were on manual (turned on during rain).
Only on dipped beam. (Did I flash anyone? Honestly can't remember. But the stalk was in the dipped beam position all the time.)

Thanks, that confirms it is not the issue we are already aware of.
I would be interested to see the stored DTCs from your car which should give the reason the CJB reported a fault. As it is seemingly random then if the hardware is OK I would suspect a current plausibility issue is being detected. Heavy electrical loads like wipers and all lights on, maybe the demister, etc, could be dropping the voltage just enough that the CJB is seeing the current drawn tip over a detection preset. That is why ignition from cold with full beam on sometimes triggers that warning (but not always).
Are you ale to send me the part nos for the relays and components used by your electrician so I can check out the datasheets?
