Default 2016 marketing stupidity returns

You can get Swedecloth headliner option in the XE, XF, F-Pace, F-Type. But no, you can not get it in the flagship XJ for 2016 (only in the XJL). What are they smoking now?
2015 XJ had it as part of the sport pack, which also included the excellent sport seats. No longer available.
They pull this stupid crap all the time now. Same as not having Portfolio pack available on the XE, XF, F-Pace for the US.............

With Remote Start, Surround Sound and the Phone App added to the 2016 as standard equipment and the Rear Sun Shade and Illuminated vents added to one of the optional packages, I guess something had to go.
Oh! the Illuminated Tread Plates and Trunk Finisher are now Aluminum. I found this out a couple of weeks after paying top dollar for the Stainless Steel Illuminated Tread Plates and Trunk Finisher, the Aluminum are much cheaper.

Why would 'something have to go'? offer it as an option, as it was on the 2015 XJ. The only thing that had to go was common sense.

My comment was made to be funny, not in agreement. Jaguar is not alone in making what we the customer feels as illogical moves, other brands do it every day. Who knows, the suede cloth headliner may be offered as an option in the XJ once again.

It's a long story but I was just shocked when I got my car home, to find out my car did not have Surround Sound and as you know the Jaguar XJ comes with a nice price tag. It is nice to know it became a standard feature in the 2016.

I suppose the only way every customer could be satisfied would be to custom build every car with absolutely everything customisable. Not sure you'd like the price tag!

That's unfortunate, particularly with a large ticket item like an XJ, but I'm sure you learned the lesson to do adequate due diligence and research to make an informed buying decision. After all, if you can't trust a car salesman, who can you trust?

This was my first Jaguar. The car I test drove had Surround Sound. The car I purchased was on the show room floor.
When they took the car outside so that I could test drive it, I did not check out the radio because I assumed it had the same as the car that I test drove.
I had no idea that Surround sound was not standard equipment in Jaguar.

I had no idea that Surround Sound was not standard equipment in a Jaguar. It was not the sales person fault.
In the future I will take nothing for granit .
It is still a nice sound system

You have primarily described the major difference in buying a Jaguar vs a Rolls-Royce.
