The first suspect for ANY electrical issue is the battery. The many electronic modules need full battery voltage to function properly. When they do not get full and consistent voltage they let you know by symptoms such as you describe, random warning lights, touchscreen freezing or blank, seat and windows not operating properly...the list is long.
If the car is not used daily, and not used for longer runs then the battery voltage will tend to drop over time. And Vancouver traffic is not exactly the best milieu for keeping the battery fully charged.
Solution: good battery maintainer such as a CTEK, permanently installed and used whenever the car is not being driven. Result: no electronic gremlins.

If its a 2-month old car, it is on full warranty. What does the dealer say about the fault ? There have not been any other posts on the fault you have. Having said that, there are not all that many of these large saloons around. Everybody seems to be rushing to drive double-decker buses, (aka SUVs) these days.
With the previous model that I have, there are regular posts on fault lights coming on and other "funnies" happening, and, yes, it can be battery-related, but these are cars with quite old batteries. Other thing that causes faults is corrosion of earthing points, but, again, your car is 2 months old so should not be suffering any corrosion problems.

I too just bought a new 2016 XJL it had some of the same kind of issues but they put a new battery in and that seemed to address the issues. I figured the car sat on the lot a long time. it only had 15 miles on it when I got it so that tells me the battery was not maintained at a decent charge level. Everything seems to be fine now although im only on week 3 of ownership. current mileage is 300+.
