In my quest to find parts to rebuild my 5.01, I have been frustrated because parts are scarce and scattered amongst several places. I especially do not like to buy parts off ebay because there is no telling where they come from. I also don’t like the idea of paying $15,000 for a rebuilt engine. I found a shop in Georgia that specializes in JLR 5.0 engines. They have rebuilt long blocks with the necessary upgrades and rebuild kits if you don’t want to buy a new engine. I’m not going to list any prices because I don’t want to be seen as soliciting. Im just passing on the info from my desperate searching.
I can see a queue building on the Interstate to"somewhere in Georgia" !!
I believe he has some sort of inside connection with a parts person at JLR. They do include a warranty on their rebuilt engines. Prices seem too be reasonable. Well for a Jaguar anyway.
Pretty sure this is the outfit (under a slightly different name) that sold me a rebuilt transmission last year. They also did the install and I'm very satisfied with the tranny and the work they did. They are a wrecking yard that specializes in Jaguars and seem to know their stuff. No affiliation.
Yes, this address is referenced by several businesses. I have also purchased parts from them for shipping as I don't live in California. In general they may rebuild with parts from pulled engines.
Sean, if you can confirm what your experience has been or will be, we'd all be better off for it. I spoke to the owner of Elite Auto Parts (may be renamed) Rick Diament and one arm of their business is as a high volume Jag breaker. Again, FWIW, as I'm not a representative for their business and am trying not to put words in their mouths.
