AC not giving cold air first 10 mins / Fan speed Low
Hi everyone,
I have an 2015 XJ 2.5 35.000 km on the clock . AC is not really blowing cold air for first 5 -10 mins especially during hot days . I took it to an AC repair shop they emptied and refilled the AC and they told me my engine fan is only working on slow speed and not functioning properly / cooling the condensator etc.
So I connect my ODB reader and checked the car ;
Outside Temp 32 C I start the car AC off ;
Coolant temperature gradually reaches to 92C ~ 22 mins car is parked idling Fan is always off
If any point I turn on the AC low or high settings Fan switches on and runs slow speed , its barely audible but blowing air to condensator/radiator .
I took the car outside 37 C
Coolant temp max reaches 92C fan is off.
I just rev the car and once coolant temp hists 101C fan kicks in running again slow speed and cools the car down quickly and stops.
If the car is> 100C and I turn on AC Max again fan in slow speed manages to cool it quickly and AC blows cold air.
Recording of the whole test:
So for me it looks like fan is just fine it kicks in if AC is on or coolant > 100C and fan in slow speed quickly cools the car down . I dont hear fan speeding up in many other cars but lookin at coolant temperatures car is cooling just fine and does not need extra fan most of the time.
So should fan always work and speed up or above behavior is expected ? I read about this DPS valve , could that be the cause of AC not performing well ?
What else can I check to verify the DPS valve and condensator ?
Thanks
