Air Compressor too hot? Suspension Fault
My XJ is permanently reporting a suspension fault with the amber warning. The left side of the car is around one finger lower than the right, but the only obvious problem that I can detect is that the round part with the electrical connection on the top of the compressor is hot to touch, even after the car has just been started.
Is it normally hot? Is there anything I should check inside the compressor? There are two screws which may be removed on that connection. If I replace the compressor, is that a DIY job or do I require a specialist?
ANy advice or compressor experiences would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's not really a problem as it is normal operation. Any relay that transfers high power will get arcing on the contacts and will eventually stick. That will burn up your new compressor. It's always a good idea to replace any associated relays. Ten bucks for a relay or another compressor in a couple days.
GM recommended replacing the power relay and the burn-off relay everytime you change the MAF sensor on the Corvette. I didn't the first time. I did after that, everytime.
