Any of you replaced your own motor mounts?
I'm going to replace the transmission mount, and since it's a 2012, I need to replace the motor mounts too.
But the question is do I replace the motor mounts (front two) myself? Or leave that to the shop?
Does the engine need to be lifted to replace the front two mounts? Or is it not too bad of a job?
I know the transmission mount is reasonable, downright easy the way it's designed. I ordered one ($108 with shipping) from AutohausAZ two nights ago and it was at my door today, so I plan to replace that & the brake vacuum pump gasket tomorrow or this weekend.

That sounds like a bit of a headache. A local dealership has a coupon for 50% off labor this month, and their charge for replacing the motor mounts is 3 hours. I think I'd rather pay them $250 - $300 labor to do it than spend a whole day contorting and squeezing myself around to do that.
The way they look like they're mounted makes it look easier, like it's as simple as supporting the engine (of course), and unbolting the mounting plate-to-block, then the bottom bolt of the motor mount, then lift it out. At least the passenger side looks that easy.
BUT i'd definitely pay the Jaguar dealership $300 to do it.
I did replace the transmission mount myself the other day though. That couldn't have been easier or quicker. Nice design for maintenance.
Thanks for the input.
