I am trying to find a good extended warranty for my parents XJ. They usually just ask the dealer and would go for anything they offer. It has about 45k miles. What are the costs?

I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with their wheels. All four wheels have peeling. It looks like the clearcoat is coming off from the edge of the rim towards the middle.

I looked at an XJ last weekend and I thought it was curb rash at first...but now that you mention it, it looked exactly like you described. I also noticed in the service history that the wheels were already resurfaced once before.

Hmmmm.

 

4Jags: have you found an extended warranty that meets your financial concerns?
Yesterday I was at my Jag dealer and spoke w/ their warranty person. My 2012 only has 7300 miles but was advised that the warranty they offer is $2400 before hitting 12,000 miles (it extends 6 years and up to 75,000 miles) but, this extended warranty only begins at date of purchase and not when date of car was purchased. If mileage on auto is higher at purchase then the cost of the warranty increases but I don't remember what it would cost with the mileage for your parents Jag.

 

I have 2013 xjl and a 2012 XF.
For the 2013 xjl, I purchased 6 year, 100k extended warranty for only $2500, when I bought the car new.
My XF was leased and I am considering buying it out. I would like to buy the warranty, before manufacturer's warrany expires. It has about 20k miles now.

Also, I am planning to buy a used 2011 Jaguar xjl and I would like to buy an extended warranty for that also.

What are the best options? Local dealer said that it would be in the $4k to $5k range for the 2011 - even though the 2011 would still be under actively covered warranty..

My dealer said to wait 3 months before the factory warranty expires and then get the warranty, otherwise you have dual coverage. They offered a 7 year/100K Jaguar Warranty for $2,900 for my 2012 XF. I asked them to send me the exclusions which interestingly are not covered in the brochure that talks about the warranty. I have yet to receive it and it has been a month!
