Black Badges & Emblems?

RoketRdr, you could simply pull your current badges off and then scuff them up a little bit with an abrasive pad. From there, you paint the badge with some plastic panel primer (this will allow the paint to flex some since the badges are plastic) and then you can either paint the badges black or you can use a very thinned black paint to apply more of a "tint" to the badges to allow the chrome to shine through, but give it more of a "black chrome" look. You then control the darkness by the number of layers that you apply.

RoketRdr, if you want to have some fun, what you do is pull the badges and you say fill the "SUPERCHARGED" letting with Elmer's White Glue (put in as much as you can without overflowing) and let it dry. You can then paint it however you want. Once you have put down your final layer of color (and the paint is still wet), use a small knife and pull out the dried Elmer's. What you will find will happen is most of the emblem will be the color you painted it and the "SUPERCHARGED" will still be chrome. Gives it that little touch of personality. I did something like that on my X-Type. This is what it came out like:
Normally where it says "JAGUAR", that entire piece is either chrome or painted. I took a chrome piece, covered the letters, and then painted the rest. Just make sure that once you peel off the glue, you put on a final layer of clear to lock everything together.
