Blind Spot Monitor issues
Hi I now have the blind spot monitor issue i have seen posted about here many times. Mine only rears its head after a day or 2 rainy weather and the warning comes up on the dash "BSM not available". I believe something is getting wet and may be the BSM module behind the bumper. I have not seen a definitive answer to this problem. Can someone please advise to at the actual fix is.? Thanks in advance.

It is thought to be caused by the sensors getting dirty and wet. Confusing the BSM system. So no actual failure. But I have not hooked up the SDD to see if it sets any codes either?
I have seen it several times on my 2014 XJR but it's always very short lived during and right after driving thru heavy rain/storms.
Maybe give it some time to see if it clears on it's own?

The sensors are quite exposed despite being knee height, as there is no cover to the underside of the rear bumper at the edges. You can see them quite clearly when looking up from below. When dry, take a look with a torch and see if yours are covered in that fine dust like road dirt that builds up in places like that? If so, you should be able to reach up and give them a wipe over (don't forget the inside of the bumper too).
If they look clean, get the DTCs read as they should give the exact reason for the message to narrow it down.
