Default Buy the Numbers

Since I have the XJ I have been trying to find out
or get a good idea how many were sold in 2011.
I know the numbers are low and even more so
when listing the Super Charged & Super Sports.
Only this passed year I am starting to see Jags
and they are still far & few in between.

Anyone have any idea or is there a web site we can o to??

~Thanks~

It's not quite what you want as this only covers the UK, but you may still find it interesting. For UK-registered cars only, you can use the "How Many Left?" website. It tells you how many are registered (and re-registered) each year for each model.

So for UK-registered SS models we have 15 SWB and 30 LWB over here. When looking at that data SORN means the vehicle is not being driven on the road (typically in storage, or being repaired). The data does not include diplomatic cars which do not need to be registered.

US sales of SS models will be a lot higher. We mainly drive the diesel models. For example we have about 7,000 diesel XJs on the roads here split across the different versions.

I have noticed an increasing number of 2010-2012 age XJs on the roads locally (I see about one a week now, compared to one every few months a year ago). I put that down to a lot of the earlier cars now being ex lease and having made their way from dealer "approved used" (equivalent to certified) or part exchange sales down to the normal second hand car sellers which tends to happen around the 4-5 year mark.

Yes . Thank you.
This gives me an understanding, in side the ball park idea of XJ by years.
I do agree with you statement of seeing more the passed year or so.
However, all jaguars are few and far in between.
BMW's & Merk's are all over the place. people don't even blink an eye.
We once stopped traffic in NYC. People walking across the street, stopping, looking.
Some walking around the car ( Down town- South Street Seaport/Wall Street Area)
that weekend we saw more Bentleys then Jags.
When we decided on the SS the sales person had a strange look on his face and sayings, You know, we don't sell many of these.

Pa. Bill: how do you like your SS? I have the NA and have thought that when I'm ready to move from the 2012 I might consider going to the SS version.

For actual production numbers for the USA, contact Jaguar Customer Service at the email address or phone number in the document below, which is what I did in 2010:

Its an excellent car.
It seems to drive better as the years go by.
I would do it all over again.
