Bypass video/park safety module

Bypass video/park safety module
Has anyone ever tried to bypass the safety feature that prevents dvd viewing unless the car is park?
On most cars it's pretty simple, I'm wondering if the same is true for these bad boys.
I did this on an aftermarket head unit in my f-350 truck, and I must say, it's pretty nice to be able to watch sportscenter while sitting in rush hour. The dash screen plays back the video signal from my iphone. I'd really like to do the same when I take the kitty to work.
Please reserve safety/legal comments. I'm aware of the risks and the laws.
