Hi everyone!

long term lurker here enjoying his 2011 XJ... aside from the infotainment system. I was wondering ignore anyone knows how to interface with the infotainment systems canbus and read/send packets to the modules on the network. I’d like to overlay the existing screen with a nexus 9 and control the climate basic volume control massage heated rear and front seats and the climate in general. I would like to set it up with an app as well but that will be another ball game. Just want to know if it’s possible to access it and read/write.

Jordan T. , I asked this about the X-Type and I was told that Jaguar uses a proprietary software for their radios and getting the code to make changes is about impossible to get, let alone them using a not-so-standard form of program language. So, I think you would be up for quite a challenge if you were to do this.

 

Probably start by bus snooping and go from there.

Not worth the effort, I reckon.
