Coolant leak 2011 Jaguar x351 5.0 N/A

Dodenhoff74, odds are, you have a leak from the tube that joins the water pump to the oil cooler. This is a small plastic part that will catastrophically fail due to temperature cycles, making it become brittle (ask me how I know). It is possible that it could be one of the other plastic parts connected to the water pump (there are a few, but the small tube is the most likely). Your best bet at this point is to not drive the car (very easy to overheat these engines and can lead to catastrophic engine damage) and get it in to have a new water pump put in with the upgraded plastic components. There is an upgrade that you can do for the little plastic piece between the water pump and oil cooler that you can get a metal piece there. Yes, it is a few dollars more, but it will be money well spent. A local shop should be able to do this job for you. But, plan on spending about $1500 USD.

After watching a few videos and looking for the leak I believe the engine oil cooler pipe is the culprit. Hopefully I didn't damage the engine when it did overheat. I saw the temp gauge got to about 3/4 and within two minutes pulled in and filled the resivour. I've let it idle about 30 minutes while watching the coolant and the engine sounds fine. Hopefully I didn't damage it
