Hello,
problem - door handle button is not working, there is no 'click' when button is being pressed like for other handles and car does not lock. Sometimes when driving, car is beeping and it feels like in those moments there is a contact for this button and car thinks that button is being pressed.
question - does anyone has dissembled handle it self and tried to repair button? In service manual I have found only how to take off handle, it means whole handle has to be changed. Also I have found on ebay part number - C2D14992 (photo attached). To change this part handle also has to be dissembled, so maybe anyone may give a comment, photos or anything that could help to do this?
Also soft close is not working, maybe it could be anything related to this?

The problem is without checking for codes using an SDD system you just shooting parts at it?
You might be right and that will fix it but it's hard to say. Never seen one taken apart and I would plan to replace the entire part. Now they don't seem to fail much so I would take a chance on a used one at a much cheaper price then new.

I just fixed the soft close on my drivers door on my 2014 XJR. It had a broken plastic part. There is a aftermarket Aluminum part out now to so it won't break again!
Can you hear the soft close motor trying to work? Any noise at all?

About soft close, nope no sounds at all, I just figured out when I changed door latch, at first I ordered wrong part (bottom on picture attached), it didn't fit so I had to order another, brand new (top in photo), and part with red arrow I think should be responsible for soft close. I'm I right about that? Thank you!

 

No look at my thread. The soft close is separate from the latch and has a cable running to the the latch from the soft close actuator.

There is no electrical connection between the soft close actuator and the door latch. It's all done with cables as shown above.

Can you post a picture of the other side of the latch? I can't tell much without seeing the cable side of the latch.

Do any of the other doors soft close work?
Did the drivers door soft close ever work?
