Why is it so hard to use the DVD player in the rear media? You have to hit so many xx to get it to play on the back screens.
It is complicated, on my Escalade all you do is hit play. This you havevto hit like 3 x to get it to play.

 

I also own an XJL Supersport. I specifically waited to order it last year for the rear video system to become available. I was disappointed to learn that you need to use an external player for the rear monitors when not using the main DVD player. My Escallade ELS has built in DVD players in each headrest and each are independant of the other and the main system.

I am also having difficulty with playing DVDs in the main system and suspect the enhancement and the need to re-select region one. Otherwise I love the car. I also own an XF Supercharged and an XKR Portfolio. So I am brand loyal. I just wish the Vidoe system was more intuitive. Owners manual is little help.

 

It's not really that bad. Have you tried using the rear entertainment in the 04-09 XJL. That system was really complicated.
