Dynamic Volume Control

Dynamic Volume Control
Does anyone know if the 2012 XJ Supercharged has dynamic volume control. When listening to my ipod, either through bluetooth or corded, the volume seems to increase and decrease randomly, even within the song.
I know songs are recorded at different sound levels, and that the Iphone/Ipod has a sound leveler option, however the volume issue is in the middle of songs, not from song to song.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes, this feature is handled by the Audyssey MultEQ DSP system. The system adjusts volume and equalization by "listening" for EQ variations rather than adjusting for the vehicle's speed. I've noticed that driving down certain roads produces a more pronounced volume increase, so the system is "hearing" something I'm not, and adjusting accordingly. Perhaps it's more sensitive to certain frequencies. You might try listening for this phenomenon as you're cruising down a variety of roads, but if you can't discern any difference (problem persists), then you might have an issue with the MultEQ system. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to simply turn off the MultEQ feature.

Volume control
Always been curious about an automatic sound leveling feature. 2012 xjl portfolio. Not a Bowers/Wilkins. Standard radio. I don't believe there is any such feature. If so where are you guys seeing it on the menu or in settings. There is nothing about it in the manual. If there was a system it should adjust volume when roof or windows open. Mine does not. Thanks
